 Mechanics of Structures

A structure of any form of building requires planning and foundations. In mechanics of structure it tells us more about the internal organs of any building. Every structure requires foundation but there are different foundations for different structures. mechanics consist of different load bearing structures and material knowledge which helps building improve its strength.

Load bearing structure

A load bearing structure works on balancing of load in such a way that the stability and strength of the part increases as there is change in position,shape and material. for example, a beam when streached long can get bend due to weigth but if has a ratio with the depth and length then the strenght of the beam is increased. Such a way can make structures possible and beautifull.

In this diagram load is distributed evenly and transfered towards the base. there are beams over columns, columns over foundations and so on. there are many wall bearing structures that may carry the load and release it towards the foundations. every column and wall has its own defination and should not be tampered unless it affects the structure. Load bearing structures and used from very long time. 

Foundations

A foundation of human being are thier feets , appropriate size and strength makes human capable to withstand certain amount of pressure and apply force onto the ground. Same goes with structures, there are certain types of foundation that may help the structures to withstand pressure according to thier use. A bridge may have different foundation then a residencial building. Such foundations help to carry the the force distributed from above and release it to the ground. This requires high amount of calculations and technical plannings like soil condition, the amount of force per meter, type of material etc.
